How does it all work?

We're not Las Vegas, we're Northern Ireland!

It's relatively straight forward to register your wedding in Northern Ireland, an application form each, show some ID and maybe some other relevant documents.
We'll aim to start this process at its earliest point, which is twelve months before your wedding day.

MARRIAGE NOTICE APPLICATION FORMS

NORTH: There is some required paperwork needed to legally marry in Northern Ireland regardless of where there ceremony takes place. I'll kick start the application process and send you all the information you need when the time is right.

In Northern Ireland the paperwork must be submitted to the wedding venue's district council within an eleven month window that opens up exactly one year before your wedding day, and closes roughly one month before the wedding day itself.

The council also look for some ID along with the paperwork, usually official photographic ID (passport / drivers license) and your long birth certificate. However always read the guidance notes incase there is anything else you might need to provide.  The council will also charge £52 (all in) for the application process to cover both application forms and also to supply your wedding certificate.

If you're courious on what the forms are link, you can access them online by pressing the button below.

SOUTH: For legal ceremonies in the Republic of Ireland, the process is a little different, but again I'm happy to sit with you and advise you in the best advice available to submit and complete your application process.  Please bear in mind the minimum required time to submit your applications forms is three months before your wedding day, and my advice is never ever leave it that late!

CEREMONY PREP

This is where we get to be creative and work on your perfect ceremony!

About eight weeks before the big day I'll get you booked in and we'll start working on your ceremony, we'll combine all your thoughts and ideas along with the legalities to create your perfect ceremony.

I love to hear wedding ceremony suggestions, and every time I think I've heard them all, you come up with something new but old and different!  Whether it's a solo song, a poem, special prayers, handfasting, scripture readings, lighting candles, writing your own vows, sand ceremonies, quaich ceremonies, wine ceremonies, releasing doves into the air!

or maybe ...
"James, we'll do and repeat what you tell us to, short and sweet mate"

The Big Day!

All the prep is done, it's time to walk up the aisle, smile, sign here, repeat after me and say I DO.

Ideally at the end of the ceremony you're both happy, because what you had imagined to be your perfect ceremony came to life!
